This is the story of my sister and what our sisterhood meant, and still means.
For most of our lives, LeAnne and I were separated by forces that felt bigger than either of us. She moved in and out of institutions from the time she was six, and I grew up on the outside of that world, trying to understand where I fit in her life.
By the time I became her legal guardian, our relationship was complicated, shaped by love but also by distance, confusion, and years we couldn’t get back. Then, during the pandemic, everything shifted at once: our mother’s dementia deepened, and LeAnne was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Our Story

Sisterhoodship is a documentary, an act of love that celebrates transformation and reconnection even at the very end of life.
Through poetic storytelling, animation drawn from LeAnne’s own artwork, and the natural world that held us through it all, I’m inviting audiences into an intimate, deeply human journey.
Your support will help bring this story fully to life, honoring LeAnne’s voice and her exceptional spirit.
Our Team
Why We Need Your Support
This film has been a labor of care, time, and deep personal investment. We’ve carried it through years of development and production, and now we’re asking for help in completing the final chapter.
Funds raised will go toward final post-production, marketing, and film festival submissions.
Your support will help us finish this film and connect it with caregivers and with the disability and neurodivergent communities—audiences whose experiences are too often overlooked in thoughtful, feature-length storytelling.
